What brings you life? Are you filling your cup before you can spill it onto others?

Try doing something nice for yourself everyday! I like being outside and remembering how little I am, how big God is, and how He has everything under control.

Jesus would go to the desert when he needed time for prayer, to be with God, and to replenish. Jesus taught boundaries. Jesus helped others immensely but He also knew how to rest. We can’t be of service to anyone if we aren’t caring for ourselves. I always tell people we set the example of how others should treat us. Are you teaching others that your mental health, rest, and boundaries are necessary? Are you letting yourself know that your needs matter too?

If you notice resistance in your body, resentment, and impatience maybe God isn’t calling you to do that thing or maybe He’s calling you to do less. If you don’t really want to participate in something, it’s ok to say no. Jesus teaches us to fill our cup until it overflows, then we can give to others.

Let your yes mean yes and your no mean no. Jesus teaches us to fully say yes and fully say no. Otherwise, are we falling into people pleasing?

If we’re running on empty every day, impatient, short with people, I’d say it’s time to check in with God and with ourselves. If experiencing these things, maybe asking if was I really meant to help in that way? Maybe the Lord is calling you to rest more and help in the capacity that you’re able to. If we fill our cups then we can choose freely how to give and give from abundance.
