Have you found yourself encouraging others, cheering for others, seeing the gifts they have, but never really cheering for yourself? Have you done this throughout your life? Do you second guess yourself? Do you assume it wouldn’t make a difference? Do you assume someone else has done it or could do it better?

Actually, I beg to differ, someone else can’t do it better. If you have a calling then no one can fulfill that mission as you would. There’s only one you and someone could benefit from you specifically. Maybe other people have done the same thing, and said similar things, but not in the way that you will. Some people will specifically benefit from the way you put words together, from your life experience.

I want to encourage you to let your ideas flourish, and take a chance on yourself, you also deserve someone rooting for you.

I’ve witnessed people who speak kindly to themselves, begin believing in themselves, taking action, using their gifts for their unique mission, and great things begin to unfold. I include myself, loving oneself could lead to such a rewarding life and unimaginable experiences. It does feel foreign if you’ve never cheered for yourself or spoken kindly to yourself. However, with practice one gets used to it, and once you feel the difference there’s no turning back.

Since our brains are neuroplastic we can rewire our old thinking patterns into new positive thoughts. I would suggest catching those negative thoughts and replacing them with loving words. Envision yourself cheering for a loved one who has so much potential, except it’s for you. If necessary, add reminders on your phone of new truths about you such as I am worthy, I can accomplish great things, I love you, whatever affirming words that are specifically fitting for you. You could also add affirmations on sticky notes in visible places for reminders.

When you have ideas, go for it! Believe in yourself and cheer for you! The more you speak kindly to yourself, the more you’ll see a shift in self-love and creativity. As a psychotherapist, I always tell people we set the example of how others should treat us.

It may feel as if opportunities we’re passing you by because you hadn’t believed in yourself but that’s something we can change now. Let’s live this beautiful life to your greatest potential, cheer for yourself, and you’ll notice all the differences.
